This week’s rally fronting Kaahumanu Avenue demonstrated OUR UNION, OUR FAMILY! With more than 200 members, family, and friends on the rally line, we effectively proved that we are UPW STRONG!

Member leaders successfully paved the way by organizing and executing the informational rally. Mahalo to Leonard Rodrigues, Miriam Baraoidan, and Etwina Rubon for their leadership and planning. They played an integral part in having our voices heard by the community and securing community support.

The community showed their support with horn honks, shakas, and shouts as we rallied this evening. Members holding homemade signs and banners waved back with messages of Heroes treated like Zeroes, Value our Hard Work. Our statement – compensate us for our value and worth. “We’re not just seeking fair wages,” State Director Kalani Werner said, “we’re seeking wages with respect.”
