Apply for the Hawaii State AFL-CIO 2024 Scholarship

Three scholarships will be awarded to the most deserving applicants who plan to attend a university college community college vocational or trade school full time

Hawaii’s high school seniors can apply for a $1,000 scholarship to support their post-high school studies. Three scholarships will be awarded to the most deserving applicants who plan to attend a university, college, community college, vocational, or trade school full-time.

To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must submit an essay of up to 1000 words on the importance of labor unions in Hawaii. The essay can be written from a personal point of view or a historical perspective. The essays will be evaluated based on their content, originality, and overall quality.

In addition to the essay, applicants must also complete a cover letter with their name, address, phone number, email address, and the type of school they plan to attend. All applications must be received or postmarked by Friday, April 12, 2024.
