Member & Staff Volunteers came out on June 8, 2018 to support the efforts of the AFL-CIO Labor Community Service Project. The Project provides support and aid to Union members and their families in in need.

This year the LCSP has been focusing on providing those in Kauai and the Big Island who have been dealing with the effects of flooding and lava flow.

Concerned the budget for emergency assistance will be depleted before they can reach all victims, LCSP Director Catherine Lederer said, “We were able to award $21,000 to families affected by the recent lava and flooding through our Emergency Assistance Program on June 13, 2018. We greatly appreciate UPW for their support. United, we are able to achieve our goal of building a stronger and healthier Hawaii for all.”
