2019 Women’s Leadership Academy Online (WLAO) Announcement

From October 2019 to December 2019

Across the nation, women are creating change for working families more than ever before. The Women’s Leadership Academy is ready to train the next group of amazing AFSCME women to be leaders of that change. That’s why we are excited to announce the 209 AFSCME Women’s Leadership Academy Online. This entirely online leadership academy is designed for all AFSCME women. The academy will consist of four different sessions aimed at giving women the skills and support so they are better prepared to stand tall for workers’ rights and increase political and workplace power on a larger scale.

While we continue to build a community of top-notch AFSCME women leaders, this online program can be adapted to your busy life. The webinars or Facebook Live sessions can be viewed live or later. In each session you will engage in discussion, view master classes, and complete online activities with other AFSCME women. The topics will include: Inclusive Leadership, Political Activism as Leadership, Leadership in the Workplace, and Women Leaders in AFSCME. When you complete all four sessions, you will received a certificate of completion. Below are requirements for participation in the Academy.
