UPW Administrator Liz Ho recently reached out to various State and County employer representatives and the State Department of Health calling for increased priority for COVID-19 vaccination for UPW Members.
As efforts to vaccinate the people of Hawaii against the COVID-19 virus continue, the government’s strategy for the distribution of the vaccine continues to develop. Administrator Ho is calling for UPW members – who have been deemed essential by Governor Ige’s emergency proclamations – to be granted the opportunity to be vaccinated in Phase 1B – Frontline Essential workers.
These faithful public servants cannot telework and have been working throughout this pandemic to maintain essential government services while subjecting themselves and their families to the risk of exposure. It is critical to protect these essential workers to ensure that essential services are safeguarded from potential disruptions by COVID-19.
UPW will continue to fight for the health and well-being of our members.
